Wow, it's been crickets over here lately! After my family headed back to the South a week or so ago, life has been zooming by. We're planning a huge meeting at work, friends have been moving across the country and into new houses nearby and our life has been full.
The result of a few full, chaotic weeks has left our house in a state of disarray (I'm learning to be OK with that), my lunchboxin' it to work routine totally shot and my attempts to make it to the gym pretty pointless.
In the midst of crazy, I find myself wanting to be creative. I want to sew, paint and decorate. I gave myself a little break this weekend and cut out a few pieces of a new sewing project, spray painted an ugly old lamp lime green and finally put lightbulbs in the new lamps on our dresser. Grand total creative time in the last few weeks added up to about 1.5 hours, but that was time well spent.
Funneling stress into creative outlets is helpful - I need to remember this instead of frequently choosing to curl up on the couch and catch up on the Bachelor Pad. (p.s., did you watch the episode from this week?! Chris is totally scummy! ew. Emily Maynard, you made the right decision on letting him go.)
On that note, here is a picture of two fine gentlemen at Peter's going away picnic last weekend. He's headed on an awesome adventure to Yale!
